Captain Zarmband's Official Website

Welcome to the official Captain Zarmband website. Many of you may have followed my blog between 2005 and January 2009 when I closed it. I started posting again in February 2010. Why did I do this and delete all the content? More of that later, suffice to say that I have a story to tell and I'll tell it when I'm good and ready.

What I have done is to condense and re-edit some of my blog posts into longer pieces about the subjects that appear on the buttons above. I've started with my main "hobby-horses" but I shall be adding to these as time goes by. You can also find my complete blog posts in the archives section.

So enjoy this site and keep popping back as I'll be putting more exciting stuff on as we go. I have much to say and a story to tell that will shock and surprise you.

Do you think we live in a democracy?

Those of you who, like me, have watched our civil liberties fritter away under this present Stalinist, big brother government, may wonder if this action is part of a wider agenda to set up a police state in Britain. At last I think I'm on to the true source and methods by which this process is being achieved and by whom.

Watch this.

And just in case you do not believe that Britain is now well on the way to becoming a police state, here it is from no lesser person than Dame Stella Rimmington, former head of MI5.

"It would be better that the government recognised that there are risks, rather than frightening people in order to be able to pass laws which restrict civil liberties, precisely one of the objects of terrorism - that we live in fear and under a police state," she said.

It seems that Dame Stella may have been reading my blog. Here's what I wrote on January 9th 2009.

"Of course, there are things that need to be kept out of the public gaze, but when a situation arises where those in authority think they have a blank cheque to act in any way they see fit and hide their actions from public scutiny or become unaccountable, then we have a dangerous situation. Indeed, a situation more dangerous than the threat supposedly posed by terrorists and those who would do harm to us. There are also those in government office who would take advantage of events and public fear in order to increase their own power under the guise of acting in the public good. These people can do more harm to us than anyone sat in a cave in Afghanistan."
